Our second graders visited Cohen Children’s Medical Center on May 21st. The staff at the pediatric hospital welcomed our students and teachers who were very excited to be there. The students learned about surgical procedures, fire safety, good nutrition and trauma and emergency medical services. They even toured an ambulance! Thank you, Mrs. Agoritsas, for extending the invitation to our students. They really enjoyed their time at the hospital. Who knows how many of our second graders were inspired to follow a career in medicine?
On Wednesday, May 8th, the eighth grade visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. The students gained a deeper understanding about what happened on 9/11 and those affected through compelling artifacts, personal stories and art. Our seniors created tribute roses for the victims and placed them on the reflecting pools. It was an amazing experience for us all.
Spyropoulites celebrated Earth Day with a variety of activities in school, including our first ever Movie Night. Students watched two movies with strong environmental messages, “The Lorax” and “Wall-E.” The Student Council raised over $1000 to beautify our school grounds. Thank you to all who made this successful event possible!
