A Star-Spangled Production

In honor of Presidents’ Week, our fifth graders put on a beautiful production honoring our American heritage, and the fourth grade chorus captivated the audience as they sang patriotic songs. Everyone in attendance learned some valuable lessons about our nation’s geography and history and about the people who made this country great! Congratulations boys and girls to you and to your teachers for an amazing job!

Celebrating Chinese New Year

The third grade has been studying China, and on February 5th both classes celebrated Chinese New Year!  The students and their teachers, Mrs. Orfanidis and Mrs. Tavantzis, paraded their dragons around our school.  They also stopped by the preschool and amazed the little ones there.  In the afternoon the third graders presented their PowerPoint projects on China to some very special guests- their parents.  After the presentations everyone enjoyed some delicious Chinese food.  And, keeping with tradition, each child received a lucky red envelope with chocolate coins! Happy Chinese New Year!

Party Like It’s 1981!

Our Junior High School students, together with students from ZP, danced the night away on Friday, February 1st. Everyone loved this year’s 80’s theme, and many students were even inspired to come to the dance dressed in their 80’s best. The room was filled with boys in ADIDAS track suits and girls wearing neon. Pac Man, Rubik’s Cubes, boomboxes and a six foot Nintendo Game Boy decorated the room. A very special thank you to the eighth grade Dance Committee members who made posters, stuffed goody bags, decorated, and even helped clean up after the dance. Also, thanks to the teachers who chaperoned and to the PTA moms who worked tirelessly to make this dance a success!
