School Highlights

We4all

On Friday, March 17th, our third graders enjoyed a very informative assembly with a representative from We4all, a Greek non-profit environmental organization that was created to help Earth heal itself and remind people that this planet is our home. Our students learned about the problem facing our planet and on how they can live their daily lives in an environmental friendly way. Inspired by the mission of this organization, our third graders have raised money to gift 50 trees to our planet Earth. They will continue to fundraise with the goal to raise more money to plant more trees. Thank you to Mrs. Orfanidis for the initiative to bring We4all to our school.

Kindergarten Scientists

On Wednesday, March 15th, our Kindergarten students got a special treat from one of our parents Dr. Marsellos, who is a Geologist and teaches at Hofstra University. Dr. Marsellos spoke about the different types of rocks and their features. He showed samples and had our little Spyropoulites use the microscope to look at the rocks. Thank you to Dr. Marsellos for this exciting, informative lesson.

Π Day 2023

The highlight of this third week of March was the celebration of π-day on Tuesday. Teachers and students of the elementary school celebrated with fun math activities while the Junior High School participated in various π-competitions where we saw the resourcefulness and creativity of many of our Spyropoulites. Students competed for the best π t-shirt, the best π-project and the recitation of the most digits. Congratulations to our winners Marko Sarafidis, Jerry Kourkoumelis, Nicholas Gulino, Yianni Sitaras, Michael Kaloudis, Lambrini Xerakias, Katerina Kourkoumelis, Maria Danalis, Georgia Kantlis, and Eleni Katakis.
